Self medication is one of the primary reasons of diseases to aggravate. Be sure of consulting your right doctor to treat the problems like Allergic Bronchitis.
It is important to understand the actual
problem before you begin the
treatment and consult the doctor.
Bronchus is the one of the larger
passages conveying air to and within
lungs. Bronchi are formed as the lower
part of the trachea divides into two
tubes that lead to the lungs. As the
bronchi get farther away from the
trachea, each bronchial tube divides
and gets smaller to provide the air to lung
tissue so that it can transfer oxygen to the
blood stream and remove carbon dioxide.
Asthma on the other hand is a condition
marked by recurrent attacks of proxysmal
dysponea due to spasmodic contraction of
bronchi whereas Bronchitis is the
inflammation of one or more bronchi.
Causes of Bronchitis
• Tendency for Cough or Cold: People
normally ignore cough and cold which
gradually develops the tendency to catch
more frequently. Any disease staying for 2
or more weeks become chronic. This
chronic inclination to catch cough, cold
converts in to bronchitis.
• URTI: Upper Respiratory Tract Infections
which are viral, bacterial, chemical in nature
like smoke, pollution, tobacco, rhinovirus
etc can cause Bronchitis.
• Genes: Respiratory disorders are genetic
in nature. Anyone in the family suffering
with respiratory or skin ailments contributes
towards Bronchitis/Asthma.
• Occupation: People who have field job or
work in factories where they are exposed to
dust, pollution, chemical irritants like coal,
arsenic, sulphur etc are more prone to
Bronchitis.
• Temperature Variation: Extreme cold
climate or very low temperature aggravates
the respiratory ailments. In India we find
extremes of climates, summers and winters.
The comfort of air conditioners, room
heaters also hampers our body wherein
sudden change of temperature leads to
coughing, sneezing, and phlegm
production and ends up in wheezing.
• Allergens: An allergen is a substance
which is unacceptable to our body and
produces Allergy. Allergy can be because
of food substance, strong odors, etc.
Signs and Symptoms
Some common symptoms of Bronchitis may
include productive (sputum) or nonproductive
(dry) cough at anytime of the
day, Phlegm leading to difficulty in
breathing and swelling of bronchioles,
Dysponea (extreme difficulty in breathing)
and fever. In any such situation, people
usually opt for oral steroids, inhalers,
expectorants etc from the pharmacy
without consulting the doctor which is
definitely an unhealthy practice leading to
further side effects and major issues.
Diet Plan
Patients with Bronchitis should avoid food
items which produce phlegm and can lead
to bronchiospas such as grapes, pineapple,
lemonade, tamaring, ketchup and other
sauces, refrigerated food, ice creams, juices
and aerated drinks. Curd at normal room
temperature is allowed. Toned milk can be
consumed with diet rich in Iron, Vitamin E
minerals and Vitamin C is important to
increase the immunity.
Homeopathy Line of Treatment
Homeopathy plays a vital role in treating
allergic bronchitis and delivers excellent
results in chronic Bronchitis. Patients who
want to get themselves treated
permanently opt for Homoeopathy.
Allopathic medication of patients should
not be stopped abruptly and gradually
tapered off. Cooperation of the patient
with his physician is mandatory as it
requires time to treat the root cause of the
disease with homoeopathy. It depends on
individual immune response how much
time homoeopathic medicines take. People
with chronic bronchitis for 4-5 year are
often observed responding positively to
homeopathy in 6-8 months. Medicines such
as Ant tart, Blatta orientalis, Aralia, Justicia,
Kali Carb, Kali sulph, Spongia, Rumex are
proven beneficial in treating
Asthma/Bronchitis but it is very important
that you should visit a homoeopathic
doctor before you opt for any medicine.
